Lemon, sweet orange, basil and a clean hit of spearmint. This is the morning candle. Light it when the kettle goes on, when you sit down with the laptop, when the room needs a bit of waking up. Hand-poured in London with a plant-based wax and natural essential oils. Silk & Fire was established in Belgravia, where Liz made her first batch.
The scent
Lemon and sweet orange take the lead. Fresh, juicy, the kind of citrus that lifts a room. Spearmint slips through the middle with a cool, green clarity. Basil sits underneath, slightly peppery and herbal, which keeps the whole thing grown-up rather than fruity.

When to light it
Slow Sunday mornings. The home office at 9am. Right after a workout. Any time the room feels a bit stale and you want it to feel alive again.
Burn care
Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each burn. On the very first burn, give it the time it needs (around 2 hours) so the wax pool reaches the edge of the glass. That stops it from tunnelling on later burns. Always burn within sight, away from drafts, kids and pets.
FAQ
How long does it actually burn?
Up to about 50 hours, when you burn it in 2 to 3 hour sessions and keep the wick trimmed.
Will it scent a whole room?
Yes, comfortably for a normal living room or bedroom (up to 25 m² or so). For larger open-plan spaces, a pair works much better than one.

Does it contain paraffin or synthetic fragrance?
No to both. The wax is a plant-based coconut and rapeseed blend, and the scent comes from natural essential oils only.
